From October 20 to 23, 2025, the 16th Summit of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) will be held in Geneva.
This quadrennial event is one of the major multilateral gatherings at the end of 2025, alongside the United Nations General Assembly and COP30 in Belém.

Established in 1964 at the initiative of the G77, UNCTAD aims to promote a more equitable integration of developing countries into global trade.
On this occasion, LASPAD (Laboratory for the Analysis of Societies and Powers / Africa – Diasporas) is publishing a series of policy briefs that identify the main issues of the summit and formulate strategic recommendations for the African delegations, particularly that of Senegal.

👉 These notes are part of the continuation of the work undertaken by LASPAD at the Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Seville in July 2025, within the framework of its mission to produce knowledge useful for public action and international cooperation.
