Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee is a central body within LASPAD. It is made up of renowned researchers from various disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Its researchers make a valuable contribution to defining the laboratory ‘s scientific orientations. They are selected for their ability to offer critical and innovative perspectives , and for their commitment to promoting research in Africa and on African issues. Chaired byone of its members, the Committee meets every six months.

The main role of the Scientific Committee is to ensure the excellence and rigour of the research conducted at LASPAD. It is responsible for evaluating research projects, validating strategic research areas and organising scientific events such as colloquia, seminars and conferences, and organising scientific events such as colloquia, seminars and conferences. In addition, it ensures that the various disciplines are linked together, thus promoting a holistic and integrated approach to the phenomena studied.
