Biography

Felwine Sarr is Anne-Marie Bryan Distinguished Professor of Romance Studies, Duke University. Felwine Sarr is a Senegalese writer and academic. He has taught at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal, where he is a full professor of economics. He has published to date, Dahij (Gallimard 2009), 105 Rue Carnot (Mémoire d’Encrier 2011), Méditations Africaines (Mémoire d’Encrier 2012) Afrotopia (Philippe Rey 2016), Ishindenshin (Mémoire d’Encrier 2017), Habiter the World (Memory of Inkwell) 2017), Writing Africa-world (collective work co-directed with Achille Mbembé, Philippe Rey 2017), Restoring African heritage (Philippe Rey/Seuil) with Benedicte Savoy and Politique des Temps (co-directed with Achille Mbembé, Philippe Rey 2019), The Flavor of the Last Meters (Philippe Rey 2021), Traces (Actes Sud, 2021), the Future Economy (Les liens qui Libération, 2021) with Gaël Giraud and Les Lieux qu’Habitent mes Rêves (Gallimard, 2022)
