Biography
Mame-Penda BA is Associate Professor in political science at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis (Senegal). She was special advisor to the Rector, Head of the political science department, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
Mame-Penda BA is co-founder and director of LASPAD. She represents the laboratory, carries out scientific diplomacy and structure development missions. After a decade of existence, LASPAD is today one of the most dynamic research and scientific activities spaces in Senegal. It includes 11 priority research axes and dozens of researchers from all continents.
Ms. Penda Ba also serves as the Secretary of the African Studies Association for Africa (ASAA), a pan-African organization dedicated to promoting African studies produced from the continent. She is also co-editor of the CIHAblog (Critical Investigations into Humanitarianism in Africa).
A member of several international research networks and the initiator of numerous intervention research programs, her work covers the sociology of religion, public policy analysis (Research, Health, Gender, Decentralization, Security), and the transformations of the state in Africa.
