Biography

Mame-Penda BA is Associate Professor in political science at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis (Senegal). She was special advisor to the Rector, Head of the political science department, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Law and Political Science. Pr.
BA is co-founder and director of LASPAD, one of the most dynamic research centers at the Université Gaston Berger and undoubtedly in Senegal.
She is co-director of the Global Africa initiative, which brings together a journal of the same name (of which she is editor-in-chief), a Young Researchers School and the MEDITS Master’s program (Métiers de l’Edition Scientifique). Mame-Penda Ba is also Secretary of the African Studies Association for Africa (ASAA), a pan-African organization promoting African studies produced from the continent, and co-editor of CIHAblog (Critical Investigations into Humanitarianism in Africa). A member of several international research networks and initiator of numerous intervention research programs, her work covers the sociology of religion, public policy analysis (research, health, gender, decentralization, security) and the recomposition of the state in Africa.
