Digitization

The LASPAD aims to digitize African academic archives. The continent has unique intellectual resources. Visit CRDS (Centre de Recherche et de Documentation du Sénégal) houses, for example, the colonial archives of the AOF and those of the Muslim court. The CELHTO (Centre d’études linguistiques et historiques par tradition orale) in Niamey is a world reference for oral tradition data in Africa. Furthermore, in all the countries of the CAMES area, there are important journals which lack visibility. One of LASPAD’s strong ambitions is to establish lasting partnerships for the digitization and making available of these archives. This initiative aims to preserve our intellectual heritage and make it more accessible through digital technologies.
