Souad Aden-Osman

Souad Aden-Osman has over twenty years of leadership experience in the public sector and international organizations, primarily with the United Nations and the African Union. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Coalition for Dialogue on Africa (CoDA), where she has played an integral role in supporting various policy initiatives aimed at promoting development and governance in Africa, including the creation of the Council African Business (AfDC), in partnership with AFREXIMBANK and the African Union Commission. Ms. Aden-Osman brings significant expertise to her role as Head of the Secretariat of the African Union High Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows (IFF) in Africa, where she coordinated the work of the Consortium to stem IFFs in Africa . His leadership was instrumental in the preparation and adoption, by the AU Assembly, of the Common African Position on Asset Recovery (CAPAR). She established working groups to provide concrete solutions to AU Member States on asset recovery and led the implementation of several important activities, including the African Tax Policy Forum. His contribution to the efforts of several negotiating and reform teams within the UN and the AU demonstrates his commitment to international cooperation and sustainable development in Africa. She is recognized for her ability to foster collaboration between various actors in order to address the challenges of development and governance in Africa. Ms. Aden-Osman holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa and is of Djiboutian and Canadian nationality.
