Fighting Disability-Based Discrimination in Africa: What Strategies?

Visual seminar: Fighting Disability-Based Discrimination in Africa: What Strategies?

The Laboratory for the Analysis of Societies and Powers / Africa – Diasporas (LASPAD) is pleased to invite you to an online seminar dedicated to addressing disability-based discrimination in Africa.

Despite legal and institutional progress in several African countries, persons with disabilities continue to face persistent forms of discrimination in social, economic, and professional spheres. These challenges remain a major barrier to their full participation in public life and inclusive development.

This seminar aims to examine the root causes of disability-based discrimination, identify effective strategies to combat this phenomenon, and strengthen community awareness and inclusion across the continent.

It will also propose practical actions to promote the socio-professional participation of persons with disabilities, in line with human rights and social justice principles.
