The Laboratory for the Analysis of Societies and Powers / Africa – Diasporas (LASPAD) is pleased to invite you to an online seminar on the security of RECs in Africa. This event will address the following themes:
“The RECs face the security problem between instability and institutional fragility”.

This seminar is part of an in-depth reflection on the challenges of security and integration in Africa. It will highlight the complex relationship between persistent insecurity in several regions of the continent and the institutional fragility of Regional Economic Communities (RECs).

Main speaker


General Jean-Luc Diène
Former Director General of Foreign Intelligence.
He will contribute his expertise to analyze whether security instability is the main cause of the RECs’ institutional fragility, or, conversely, one of its consequences.
