Presentation
This seminar offered an in-depth reading of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict that broke out in February 2022, exploring the geopolitical, historical and humanitarian dimensions of this major crisis. It highlighted the continuing tensions between Russia and the West, while questioning the real stakes involved in Crimea, regional security and the role of OTAN.
Discussions also highlighted the unprecedented humanitarian impact, with over 6.5 million Ukrainians displaced, and the unprecedented way in which Europe has reacted, raising questions about differential treatment in a migratory context.
Finally, the seminar revisited the shared historical roots of Russia and Ukraine, and analyzed how this conflict is redefining international balances in the post-Trump era, in a world in search of stability.
