Presentation

The discovery of oil and gas in Senegal invites in-depth reflection on the choices that will shape the country’s energy future. The balance between economic exploitation, social justice and environmental sustainability will be decisive in forging a development model that benefits all Senegalese people. It is essential that this transition is marked by responsibility and inclusiveness, so that the fruits of these resources are truly shared and serve as a lever for a prosperous and resilient Senegal. This seminar will be an opportunity to examine the varied roles of the actors involved, to analyze the actions implemented for effective and transparent governance, and to discuss future prospects for maximizing the social and environmental benefits of these resources.
